11/24/2023 0 Comments To sleep in a sea of stars sequel![]() It left tons of potential pathways for his series and world to build upon. I found a specific liking to the way he finished the book. While some of his work from this book can be tracked to other sci-fi books, I felt this novel showcased how much better of a writer he has become. I grabbed this book in curiosity to see how Paolini changed since the Inheritance series that he started when he was 15 (also, I've never read a sci-fi novel, so why not). Though the character development was stunning (I love Gregorovich's development). Maybe shortening the book would have caused the progression to be faster and more attractive. I feel that the progression was weaker than it needed to be. Yes, the action at the start was a great addition and a good page-turner for me, but the general plot progression was not. Last but not least, I found the pacing of the book drawn out in some areas. While this did not change in this book, some of the descriptions felt somewhat lackluster and general to the point where they weren't needed. Christopher Paolini has always been heavy on descriptions, and I liked that about him while reading his Inheritance series. It might just be Kira being in shock, but the emotional responses to things she had just made her feel empty to me.Īnother thing that I feel could have been done better is his descriptions. This can be explicitly shown when Kira's fiance was killed If this were to happen to me, I would be completely broken. There are some parts of the book where her emotions just somewhat nonexistent. I found that the protagonist Kira doesn't feel as human as she should. Still, I do have my quarrels with this book that I feel could have been executed slightly differently. The book is pretty big (880 pages) and overall was generally a good book. The cover is easily the coolest cover I have seen in a long time and something I wish they make into a poster for me to buy. First of all, I wanted to mention how absolutely stunning this book looks. I have lots of mixed feelings about this book I wanted to bring them up and see what the people of Reddit thought of the book.
